Abstract

The magnetic properties of a mixed AxB1-x Heisenberg ferromagnet are analysed in terms of a partial Green function technique and a quadratic approximation. The critical temperature Tc(X) is calculated for various ratios JAB/JAA and JBB/JAA between the interactions presented in the system. Results are compared with both CPA and MF calculations. The ratio between the magnetisations of the two components sigma B/ sigma A at T to Tc(X) is derived and shown to agree with MF considerations over a wide region of X. The spin-wave density of states (both the full and the partial contributions of each component) are derived and compared with computer simulations.
