Abstract

A series of Co–Ni–Mg–N films (450 nm thick) with variable nitrogen content in the range 0–16 at% N (and 82–66 at% Co, 4 at% Mg, balance Ni) were prepared by electrodeposition. The effects of nitrogen content of the films on the magnetic characteristics (magnetization, remanence, coercive field and the activation volume of magnetic reversal) were studied.
