Abstract

A second-order degenerate perturbation theory is applied to derive an effective Hamiltonian for strongly distorted TCNQ salts with stoichiometry D +(TCNQ) - 2 (D = donor). Influence of charge orderings on magnetic properties of these salts is analysed and instabilities possible in the systems due to electron-phonon interactions are briefly discussed.
