Abstract

In order to study the effect of subsitution of Ba 2+ ion by La 3+ ion without inducing Fe 2+ ion, the hexagonal ferrites La x Ba( 1- x )Fe( 12- x )Zn x O19 were prepared by oxalate coprecipitation method. The ferrites with magnetoplumbite structure were found in specimens with x < 0.8. The specific magnetization increases with increasing x, but the Curie temperature and magnetic crystal anisotropy constant, K 1 decrease. The X, W phases existed in the phase region of high temperature were discussed.
