Abstract

Magnetization measurements on Ln[Fe(CN)6].nH2O crystals, where Ln=La, Pr, Sm and Dy revealed large anisotropy between the easy and a hard magnetic axes. Transition to the magnetically ordered state is accompanied by an anomaly in magnetization and a large lambda anomaly in heat capacity with a maximum at Tc=1.3 K for Pr[Fe(CN)6].5H2O, Tc=3.5 K for Sm[Fe(CN)6].4H2O and Tc=2.8 K for Dy[Fe(CN)6].4H2O. Electron, phonon and magnetic contributions to heat capacity were determined for Sm[Fe(CN)6].4H2O.
