Abstract

and are known to be triangular antiferromagnets with planar and axial magnetic anisotropy, respectively. Magnetic susceptibility and torque measurements have been carried out to investigate the relationship between the magnetic anisotropy and phase transition in the mixed triangular antiferromagnetic system, . The phase diagram for the Néel temperature versus the bromine concentration x is obtained. With increasing x, the intermediate ferrimagnetic phase becomes narrower and it vanishes at , where the magnetic anisotropy generally vanishes.
