Abstract

Low-field ac magnetic susceptibility measurements as a function of temperature have been carried out on the orthorhombic solid solution (Fe 1− x Ru x ) 2P with 0.25 ≤ x ≤ 0.6. They indicate the onset of two transitions. One of them corresponds to the Curie temperature ( T c). The other one, characterized by a broad maximum, occurs at a temperature T k somewhat lower than T c. This behaviour is similar to that exhibited by ferromagnetic Fe 2P under pressure. Both T c and T k exhibit a net and continuous decrease with increasing Ru content.
