Abstract

Cu2(NO3)(OH)3 (rouaite) is a frustrated triangular lattice magnet. We measured the magnetic susceptibility, specific heat, 1H-NMR and high field magnetization of a powder sample of Cu2(NO3)(OH)3 and found a clear evidence of the long range magnetic order at about 8 K. The transition temperature was found to decrease as the magnetic field H increased. An H-T phase diagram of Cu2(NO3)(OH)3 was determined by specific heat, magnetization and 1H-NMR data. The high field magnetization curve was analyzed using a simple spin model.
