Abstract

The influence of stress on the magnetic permeability of monocrystalline Mn-Zn ferrous ferrite in a simple model video recording head is investigated. For that purpose the self-inductance and magnetic loss to be expected for a stress-free head at various temperatures and frequencies are compared with data measured on a real head.
