Abstract

Cr and Ru ions are statistically disordered in SrCrxRu1−xO3 perovskites, and yet long-range magnetic order up to 480 K is observed. This is attributed to all four of the distinctive magnetic interactions being antiferromagnetic with those between neighboring Cr and Ru strengthened by transfer of spin-up (green) or spin-down (red) electrons.
