Abstract

It is shown that the magnetic moments calculated in the cranked HFB (CHFB) approach are very much sensitive to the input values of spherical single particle energies. With proper choice of these energies, the CHFB formalism, in its simple version, is quite capable of reproducing observed variation of g-factors with spin in a number of rare-earth nuclei.
