Abstract

The magnetic linear birefringence of Eu3Ga5O12 in the 78–295 K temperature range is investigated experimentally and theoretically. Good qualitative agreement between the theoretical and experimental temperature dependences of the magnetic linear birefringence is obtained. The magneto-optical anisotropy of Eu3Ga5O12 is analyzed and it is shown that here there is only qualitative agreement between theory and experiment.
