Abstract

The behaviour of the thermal ionization energy of the Gamma effective-mass state under a magnetic field has been studied near the Gamma -L-X crossover of AlGaAs. The results deviate significantly from the typical behaviour and it is shown that a better agreement can be obtained if screening effects and an anticrossing with a resonant state of a1 symmetry are considered.
