Abstract

The effect of external magnetic field on the photoresponse of quantum dot photodetectorsis studied numerically. Application of an external in-plane magnetic field results infrequency shift of the absorption lines of a photodetector and the appearance of newabsorption peaks. The positions of the new peaks and their relative strengths depend onthe type of optical transitions and on the size of quantum dot in the active region of thephotodetector.
