Abstract

A 3-D calculation of the magnetic field produced in the air by a thin sheet model of a superconducting generator's 'horse saddle' type winding is presented. To be able to calculate the field everywhere in space, including on the winding, analytical expressions consisting of elliptic integrals are derived and numerical methods are used to solve them, permitting a new time-saving, efficient computation algorithm. >
