Abstract

We studied the diamagnetic shift and integrated intensity of ground-state electron--heavy-hole exciton resonance spectra in ${\mathrm{In}}_{0.53}$${\mathrm{Ga}}_{0.47}$As/InP quantum wells up to 8 T. By analyzing measurements based on the variational calculation, we clearly demonstrate that the magnetic field enhanced the exciton oscillator strength due to the shrinkage of quasi-two-dimensional well-plane wave functions.
