Abstract

A novel leaf-like cobalt oxide particles were prepared by a magnetic field assisted chemical deposition method and subsequently sintering process. The phase structure, morphological changes, and electrochemical performance of the cobalt oxide particles were systematically tested and the effect of the magnetic field on the product morphology was studied. Owin to the unique leaf-like shape structure, the optimal Co3O4 particles at 80 mT displayed the highest specific capacitance of 1247.4 Fg−1 at 1 A/g, with a retention rate of 94.1 % after 10,000 cycles.
