Abstract

Measurements of the dynamical magnetic response of single-crystal samples of random alloys of palladium-1% iron and palladium-5% iron have been made using neutron inelastic scattering throughout the Brillouin zone. The results for the spin wave stiffness agree with previous measurements and with some calculations. The large-wavevector excitations have been examined for the first time and show unexpected behaviour.
