Abstract
Magnetic stimulation at the level of the foramen magnum can elicit motor evoked potentials (MEPs) in active muscles (brainstem stimulation: BST). However, BST sometimes fails to elicit MEPs in some patients with central motor tract involvement probably because of elevated threshold. We report a novel technique using double-pulse brainstem stimulation (double-BST) which evoked MEPs in some patients in whom single pulse BST (single-BST) was not able to elicit MEPs.
