Abstract

It is shown that domain structure of Fe-(Zr, Nb)-B alloys depends not only on mean grain size but also on the strength of the intergranular magnetic coupling and structural inhomogeneities. Although the mean bcc grain size is the same as in the optimum state, a larger magnetization ripple and domain wall pinning by abnormally grown borides is seen in the under-and over-annealed states, respectively.
