Abstract

To study magnetic correlations and spin dynamics of CaMn0.96Mo0.04O3 (CMMO) compound at paramagnetic (PM) state and to probe its low temperature magnetic ordering, X-band electron magnetic resonance (EMR) measurements were performed in 5K⩽T⩽600K interval. The model fittings of EPR peak-to-peak linewidth and double integrated intensity reveal an existence of antiferromagnetic (AFM) and ferromagnetic (FM) correlations at PM state. The enhancement of FM correlations upon cooling and its competition with AFM ones result in FM-like magnetic ground state of CMMO below 110K. The results of EMR measurements evidence that the low temperature magnetic ground state of CMMO may be better described by complex canted magnetic structure with net FM component than by the phase separated state.
