Abstract
Magnetic measurements were performed on U1-xRxAl3 with R = La or Y in the temperature range 4(77)-700 K and fields up to 7 T. UAl3 is a spin fluctuation system. When uranium is substituted by Y or La the effective magnetic moments decrease together with the absolute magnitude of θ. This suggests a gradual quenching of the spin fluctuations with increasing R content.
