Abstract

Magnetic and transport properties of R 2Mo 2O 7 (R=Sm, Gd and Tb) pyrochlores have been investigated using single crystal specimens grown by floating zone method. The system is found to undergo a transition from ferromagnetic metal (R=Sm and Gd) to spin-glass-like insulator (R=Tb) depending on the R-ion radius. Resistivity data of Sm 2Mo 2O 7 under a pressure of 0.6 GPa are also presented.
