Abstract

The magnetic susceptibility and transport properties (Hall effect and electrical resistivity) have been measured in R(In 1− x Sn x ) 3, where R = Nd, La. Characteristic W-like oscillatory behaviours as a function of x are obtained in the susceptibility and Hall effect in the systems with R = Nd and La but these show in a different appearance in the R = Nd system in which the effect of the R = La system being subtracted. From these facts the band structures of these systems might be considered fairly complicated ones in which the contribution of the 5d electrons of Nd and La would be important. NdIn 3 shows anomalies in resistivity and Hall effect corresponding to the change of the spin structures below T N. Discussion of the magnetic properties in terms of the RKKY interaction is given.
