Abstract
A comprehensive study of magnetic and superconducting properties of the 90 K superconductor, Ba2YCu3Oy is presented with particular emphasis on the significant dependence on the oxygen content ranging from y = 6.22 to 6.96. Static magnetization measurement shows that superconducting transition temperature and superconducting volume fraction of each sample show a strong dependence on the oxygen content. In addition to the superconducting properties, magnetic properties in the normal state for samples with different oxygen contents are presented.
