Abstract

The phase diagrams of an annealed binary system with magnetic and non-magnetic atoms, among which chemical and magnetic interactions exist, are discussed. It is shown that when these interactions bring about two kinds of competition in the spatial ordering of magnetic atoms, spontaneous metamagnetic transitions or other transitions between two magnetically ordered phases can appear. This new mechanism of temperature-induced metamagnetic transition depends strongly upon the concentration of magnetic atoms.
