Abstract

Abstract This paper presents electron magnetic resonance (EMR) and vibrating sample magnetometry (VSM) study of Heusler alloy Ni 50 Mn 35.5 In 14.5 ribbons prepared by melt spinning. The temperature dependency of the EMR spectra and magnetization was measured during the cooling and heating process in the 180–330 K and 100–450 K temperature ranges, respectively. Both methods reveal thermal hysteresis (structural phase transition) and metamagnetic character of this material. The morphology and composition were investigated by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) with an energy-dispersive spectrometer (EDS).
