Abstract
Abstract Mossbauer and magnetization measurements on maghemite particles, which were uncoated or coated with oleic acid, showed that the blocking temperature decreases upon coating. Moreover, it was found that particle vibrations are enhanced upon coating. Thus the results indicate a correlation between the mechanical and the magnetic coupling of the particles.
