Abstract

Measurements of Curie temperature, temperature dependence of magnetization, magnetostriction, and magnetization curve are carried out on Dy0.9-xPrxTb0.1Fe2 (x = 0, 0.1, 0.2, 0.4) polycrystalline compounds. A decrease of Curie temperature and saturation magnetization caused by the Pr substitution is observed. The calculated first-order anisotropy constant of the compounds also decreases with increasing Pr content, which causes the increase of the magnetostriction of the compounds near x = 0.1.
