Abstract

(La0.9Bi0.1)2/3Ca1/3MnO3 manganite perovskite was synthesized, the electrical and magnetic transport properties were investigated. Considerable thermal hysteresis in resistance (R) and magnetization (M) have been observed, and two peaks were observed in R–T curve. With an applied field of 5T, the thermal hysteresis in the resistance was suppressed, and only one peak was observed. The temperature-dependent magnetization (M–T) curve shows that below the paramagnetic–ferromagnetic transition temperature TC, a ferromagnetic–canted ferromagnetic transition might occur. The anomalous temperature-dependent behavior of the magnetization could account for the thermal hysteresis of the resistance.
