Abstract

AbstractPreparation of barium hexaferrite nanoparticles by chemical route and investigations of their dielectric and magnetic properties at microwave frequencies (8–12 GHz) are reported in the present paper. Measurements of these properties were carried out at microwave frequencies by using a cavity perturbation technique. It is observed that the values of the permittivity and permeability of nanoparticles are lower than the corresponding values for the bulk material. The effects of particle size, calcination temperature and compositional dependence on structural, microstructural and magnetic properties are also discussed. (© 2009 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co.
