Abstract
Preterm births are rising, and neonatal care provisions are advancing with research and technology. Intravenous Magnesium Sulphate (MgSO4), given to the mother when preterm birth is expected or planned, will help protect the baby’s brain and reduce the incidence of cerebral palsy. Cerebral palsy is a lifelong condition with varying degrees of severity and disability. The PReCePT project is now a national project and should be delivered in all NHS hospitals across the country.
