Abstract

Twenty patients with burns were investigated for the magnesium-deficiency syndrome. Eight showed a significant fall of serum-magnesium, and five of these had symptoms of magnesium deficiency. It is suggested that some of the psychiatric symptoms exhibited by many burned patients may be due to or aggravated by magnesium deficiency.
