Abstract
It is an honor to have been chosen by the International Society for Research in Human Milk and Lactation to be the recipient of the Macy-Gyorgy Award for Research in Human Milk and Lactation for the year 2000. The Award is of special significance because Icey Macy and Paul Gyorgy were pioneers in research concerning human milk and lactation and because the Society is the leading organization that deals with research in this aspect of human biology.
