Abstract

Periodicity of excitation function fluctuations in dissipative heavy-ion collisions is derived from a pole form of S-matrix elements. This is in qualitative agreement with data on 19F(Elab ≃ 140 MeV) + 89Y dissipative collision. It is shown that the energy dependence of the cross-section arises from summation over discrete angular momenta in the reaction amplitudes, while quasi-classical replacing of the summation over discrete angular momenta by the integration over continuous angular momenta results in an energy-independent cross-section. Since the time power spectrum of the decaying dinucleus demonstrates a classical rotation of the dinuclear system, the dissipative heavy-ion collisions can be viewed as simultaneously displaying quantum and classical features.
