Abstract

AbstractVarious polymeric materials based on simple, double, and triple emulsions stabilized solely by dichlorodimethylsilane (DCDMS)‐modified amorphous silica nanoparticles of well‐controlled surface hydrophobicities or organo‐modified Laponite clay nanoparticles are described. Magnetic and fluorescent polymer beads having different morphologies are fabricated from double‐emulsion templates. Polymer foams based on Pickering emulsions are fabricated and functionalized using different materials such as sporopollenin and zinc metal particles. Suspension polymerization of both oil phases of a novel Pickering triple emulsion results in the formation of new porous hierarchical structures. Polymer foams and beads based on novel nonaqueous Pickering simple and double emulsions are fabricated.
