Abstract

Seven chiral macrocyclic ligands with potential O 2P 2 and N 2P 2 coordination sites owing their chirality from the incorporation of an axial-chiral binaphthyl unit were used as chiral auxiliaries in transition metal catalyzed carbon-carbon bond-forming reactions. Three model reactions were investigated, and enantioselectivities are discussed on the basis of accepted mechanistic pathways by using X-ray structural analyses.
