Abstract

Abstract The template condensation of the macrocyclic precursor ligand 1, 2, 9, 10-tetraphenyl-3, 4, 7, 8-tetraazadeca-2, 4, 6, 8-tetraen-1, 10-dione and aliphatic diamines in the presence of cobalt(II) perchlorate has resulted in the formation of 14-16 membered ring macrocyclic complexes. These complexes are characterized by spectral (UV-VIS, IR and ESR), magnetic and conductance studies. A five-coordinate geometry has been proposed for these complexes based on the above evidence.
