Abstract

The main goal of this work is to optimize the quadratic mean roughness Rq and the machining time T in ball end milling of the Titanium alloy Ti-6Al-4V. The Taguchi method was applied in this research in order to analyze the impact of each milling parameter on the surface roughness and the machining time. In fact, an orthogonal array L9, a signal to noise ratio S/N analysis and Pareto ANOVA were used to select the optimum levels combination of the milling parameters and to investigate the impact of each milling parameters on the machining time and surface roughness.
