Abstract

Energy is a very important factor for developing a country. Nowadays, researcher works is mostly focused in the green technology especially renewable energy resources. It includes wind energy, solar and also hydropower, which are in abundance in the natural environment and are practically inexhaustible. Hydropower, more specified to the stand alone pico hydro, not only environmental friendly, it is also convenient to the end users in terms of easy installation on site, cheaper cost, low maintenance and site accessibilityas most of the rural areas do not have the grid access. Especially for those people living in rural areas of Sabah & Sarawak. The impact of the generating power from Pico hydro is to keep the parameters of the plantfor the output power within their permissible limits. Therefore it is very important to keep the parameters of the output power for more appropriate performance and effective use. Thus, producing an integrated controller on frequency response for standalone pico hydro system. Different types of controller will discuss thoroughly under literature review. The aim of this research is to design and implement efficient hydro turbine management unit with integration control using intelligent approach fuzzy-PID flow control and PID load controllerwhich will be simulated using MATLAB for analysis and verification purposes. Results of this analysis shows that with integration controller on pico hydro system has slightly better performance on the output response in terms of overshoot percentage and peak value
