Abstract
Current care for patients with an implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD) does not take into account heterogeneity among ICD patients. Data-driven, unsupervised cluster analysis enables identification of clinical phenotypes that may exhibit distinct trajectories of disease progression, benefit from the ICD and risk for adverse events. Such clinical phenotyping could facilitate personalised care tailored to individual risk of ICD patients.
