AbstractProperty, Real Estate & Development (MIC: 8.3 SIC: 6798 NAIC: 525930)Macerich is a self‐administered and self‐managed real estate investment trust engaged in the acquisition, ownership, development, redevelopment, management and leasing of regional and community shopping centers located throughout the U.S. As of Dec 31 2006, Co. is the sole general partner of, and owns a majority of the ownership interests in, The Macerich Partnership, L.P., a Delaware limited partnership. Additionally, as of Dec 31 2006, The Macerich Partnership owned or had an ownership interest in 73 regional shopping centers and 18 community shopping centers aggregating approximately 76.9 million square feet of gross leasable area.
