Abstract
The position occupied by the concept of macat in Egyptian thinking is, in the Greek outlook, roughly paralleled by the term 5ikt|. These two terms represent the basis of the cosmic outlook of their respective cultures, and serve as a starting point for the understanding of the Egyptian and Greek attitudes toward nature, life, the world, and the political system.
