Abstract
Small cell lung cancer (SCLC) is the most aggressive subtype of lung cancer with a 5-year survival rate of only 6%, which is mainly attributed to the rapid development of resistance to chemotherapy. Recent investigations reveal that SCLC is a phenotypically highly heterogeneous disease. Nevertheless, the relation between the growth phenotypes and chemo-resistance of SCLC remains largely unclear.
