Abstract
The impact of left digit bias is well described in behavioral economics (e.g. price evaluations of potato chips at $2.99 instead of $3.00). The impact of left digit bias in cancer treatment has not been previously characterized. The objective of this study is to evaluate whether left digit bias affects surgical decision-making for patients with early-stage non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) who are 79 versus 80 years old.
