Eosinophilic gastroenteritis (EGID) is an exceedingly rare disorder characterized by eosinophilic infiltration of the gastrointestinal tract without any known cause of eosinophilia. The pathogenesis is not well understood, and patients can present with a variety of symptoms, typically dependent on the layer of the bowel of eosinophilic infiltration.
