Abstract

Acquired angioedema (AAE), while rare, is a life-threatening complication often associated with underlying disorders, most commonly related to lymphoproliferative malignancies or various autoimmune diseases. The underlying cause as related to solid tumors is not well reported. AAE transpires through increased catabolism of serine protease inhibitor C1INH, thought to be secondary to development of antibodies that lead to continuous activation of the complement system.
