Abstract
uL) (hazard ratio 2.25; p=0.005). Conclusion: The incidence of PNALD is quite high in a cohort of infants with NEC undergoing surgical treatment. Although the strongest risk factor is pre-operative PN exposure, thrombocytopenia, resection of small intestine and loss of the ileocecal valve are also associated with the development of PNALD. Further analysis is underway to define other risk factors in this multicenter, prospective study.
