Abstract
Abstract The SU sdg BF (3) limit of pn-sdgIBFM, which was developed earlier, is applied with success in analyzing the recently observed M1 data in the 163 Dy nucleus. As new experiments are being planned for 157 Gd nucleus and that 156 Gd is known to be a good SU sd (3)×1g nucleus, in the second part of the paper a formalism for M1 distributions in the SU sd BF (3)×1g limit is developed. In both these analytically solvable limiting situations, predictions are made for M1 distributions in the 157 Gd nucleus.
