Abstract

Intranasal corticosteroids are a first-line treatment for chronic allergic rhinitis. Adverse reactions to this drug are rare and include epistaxis, delayed linear growth, and immunosuppression and the drug is usually well tolerated. In this report, we describe a patient who developed motor tics and mood disturbances after initiating intranasal fluticasone propionate. This side effect is rarely described in the literature, however, is important to consider when initiating the medication in the pediatric population.
